The first “HIRIKO” electric car, acquired in a London charity auction

The first HIRIKO electric car which is to be commercialised in two years already has an owner: Scottish entrepreneur Ian Watson who bought it for £7000 in a charity auction in London. HIRIKO representatives, Carlos Fernández Isoird and Iñigo Antia and Media Lab – M.I.T. engineer William Lark, invited by the organisers of the event, were present together with a 1:2 scale prototype. This event took place in the installations of the installations of the company Holland & Holland and money raised is destined to the Prince Charles Foundation charity.

In total 18 batches of considerable value were auctioned, all of which were related to renewable anergies and sustainability, among representatives of British corporate and financial concerns. Also present were Mona Kashoghi, Linda and Chris Ogilvic-Taylor, Niki Cole, Jasmine Horowitz, bankers George and Peter Piskov, Mara Hacking, etc. Over thirty thousand pounds were raised, and the HIRIKO electric car was the article that raised the most money. “And that when there are still two years to go before it is launched into the market!”, explained the HIRIKO representatives who took advantage of the event to present the project and contact representatives from what is to become the franchised assembly workshop in London.

Ian Watson distinguishes himself by his continuous contributions to charities such as the Hunger Project, an organization engaged in putting an end to hunger throughout the world; the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which he chaired from 1999 to 2004; Mondial Pye or the Youth Empowerment Alliance.
