  • Barroso will point out “HIRIKO” as a model of european social innovation

    As a tribute to the memory of Diogo Vasconcelos whose visionnary commitment to social innovation has greatly inspired the European Commission, President Barroso will participate on January 24 to the “Global Launch of Hiriko Driving Mobility”, a large scale European social innovation initiative offering a systematic solution to major societal challenges: wurban transportation, pollution and job creation.

    The HIRIKO Project was a model of corporate corporation between the USA and Spain in an event held in the North American embassy in Madrid last Thursday 2nd June. Ambassador Alan D. Solomont gathered 150 representatives of industries and corporations from both countries and expressed interest for the development of the electric vehicle, the modules of which are to be built in the Basque Country.
